Biography

Eric Harper is a senior portfolio manager and head of the Closed-End Fund Strategies team at Allspring Global Investments. His responsibilities include managing the team responsible for developing the firm’s overall investment strategy as it pertains to closed-end funds. He also directs portfolio management, research, trading, and investment risk management within the specialty of closed-end funds and is a member of the Investment Review Committee. Eric joined Allspring from its predecessor firm, Wells Fargo Asset Management (WFAM). He joined WFAM from Tattersall Advisory Group, where he served in a similar role since 2000. Earlier, he was a fixed income research analyst for Thompson, Siegel & Walmsley, Inc. Eric earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Virginia. He has earned the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) designation and is a member of CFA Society Virginia and CFA Institute.
