Biography

Joseph (Joe) Kippels is a portfolio manager for the Core Fixed Income team at Allspring Global Investments. He joined Allspring from its predecessor firm, Wells Fargo Asset Management (WFAM). Prior to WFAM, Joe was a portfolio manager at BlackRock (formerly Barclays Global Investors), where he focused on the agency mortgage market and managed a wide variety of account types. Earlier, Joe worked in fixed income research at Smith Breeden Associates, Inc., and traded energy commodities at Mirant Americas Energy Marketing, LP. Joe began his investment industry career in 2000. He earned a bachelor's degree in economics and computer applications from the University of Notre Dame, where he graduated magna cum laude, and a master's degree in business administration from The Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. Joe has earned the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) designation.
