Biography

Michael Sharkey is a portfolio manager for the Core Fixed Income team at Allspring Global Investments. He focuses on asset-backed and commercial mortgage-backed securities. Michael joined Allspring from its predecessor firm, Wells Fargo Asset Management (WFAM). Prior to joining WFAM, Michael served as an analyst in the commercial finance group at Wells Fargo Bank. Earlier, he was a research assistant at the Federal Reserve Board in the international finance division. Michael began his investment industry career in 1997. He earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and economics from the University of Michigan and a master’s degree in finance and economics from the London School of Economics. He has earned the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) designation.
