Wai Lee, Ph.D.

Biography
Wai Lee is a senior portfolio manager and the head of Systematic Research for the Multi-Asset Solutions team at Allspring Global Investments. He joined Allspring from its predecessor firm, Wells Fargo Asset Management (WFAM). Before WFAM, Wai was at Neuberger Berman, where he served as head of quantitative investments and as a senior portfolio manager. Prior to that, he was head of the quantitative engineering group at Credit Suisse Asset Management, and earlier, he oversaw quantitative research and risk management for the global balanced group at J.P. Morgan Investment Management. Wai served as a postdoctoral research fellow at Harvard Business School. He began his investment industry career in 1996. Wai earned a bachelor’s degree with honors in mechanical engineering from the University of Hong Kong and a master’s degree in business administration and a Ph.D. in finance from Drexel University.
